Houston Calling has released its
Best Indie Albums of 2005 list, and
Cezanne came in at number 3! Thanks HC! We're in excellent company - many of this year's great Houston albums got kudos as well.
We're happy to announce that our new album,
Cezanne, is now
for sale through Magnatune. com. Listen to the whole album for free, and if you like it, you can buy it electronically and pick your own price.
If you're in Austin, come by the
Nudge 2.5 Film Festival tonight to see the film "Excess Psilo", which uses
music by Drop Trio as its soundtrack! We haven't seen it yet, but we hear it's about drugs.
For the record, Leap was not recorded on drugs. Unless being geeky counts as a drug. In that case, we're high on life.
Hope to see you at the showing.
So, playing spaceship jazz is cool and all, but wouldn't it be rad to actually FIND some spaceships? We thought so too, so we started a SETI @ Home team for Drop Trio.
Join up!
(In case you're not familiar,
SETI @ Home uses idle time on computers around the world to analyze data from radio telescopes in the hope of finding some intelligent life out there in the universe.)
And yes, this qualifies as the geekiest thing we've done since ... um, like, yesterday.
Our last set of '05 was a blaorst! For all you latecomers that might have missed it,
Rozz Zamorano knocked me out on solo bass. The fred killed. And we had fun.
Though we're done for '05, I -- for one -- am
getting ready for '06. Lots of
ideas brewing for Drop Trio, for sure. Now,
back to work on how to make them happen.
Come check us out with
the Fred tonight.
And check out the
article in the Houston Press today.
