We've got some exciting news to share! Drop Trio would like to announce the addition of a new bass player to our lineup, Marc Reczek (of Bro Sure and
Little Brother Project). Any of you who came out to
Last Concert Cafe on Friday got a chance to see Marc in action for the first time - he's a great player and we're psyched he's on board. Marc's first "official" show with Drop Trio will be at Brasil on May 8th, when we let loose with a whole barrage of new tunes.
"But what about Nino," you ask? Well, Nino has decided to step down from his role in Drop Trio, though not for a lack of love for the band. As he explains, a combination of being crazy busy personally and wanting to move in new directions added up to having to make a tough choice. We support him totally, and we've been privileged to have him continue playing with us while the search was on for a bass player. Now that it's settled, Nino will be making his exit, stage left.
But not without a party!! Come see Nino off at Brasil this coming Saturday, 26 April, for his official "last show" with Drop Trio. That's in quotes because we know that he'll be back before long, to sit in and keep us on the straight and narrow. We'll be there around 8:30 or 9, and play till the cows come home. See you at Brasil on Saturday - be ready for a party!
Come out for one of our biggest shows yet! We're playing at 9, followed by
Vibe Committee at 10:30 and
Plump at midnight. Click here for a map to the Last Concert Cafe. Cover is 7$. You can also take a look at the
poster for the show. Looks like it's going to be nice weather - don't miss an evening of some of Houston's finest Funk Jazz!
