Sometimes, you just have to close your eyes and make the leap
So last Sunday, Feb. 29th, Drop Trio hit Sugarhill studios
with a new idea. It was a whim, really. Completly improvised, no plan, no safety net. A leap of faith.
And the session couldn't have gone better. With the help of engineer John Griffin
and resident drum guru Robbie Parish
, we got an amazing sound and put down over 2 hours of material that's totally new territory for us - some avant-gard, some progressive, some ambient, etc. - and of course, plenty of plain old rockin' out Drop Trio style. Leap
Pictures from the session will be up soon. Leap
will probably be released sometime in 2004.
