I got a call today that one of my contemporaries is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and stroke. It's Stephen Adams, leader of the Dreambreakers, a man who is a musical genius ... I roller skated over to St Joseph's ICU to visit him and was surprised to actually get in to see him (sans skates, of course) ... His heart signs looked good. As a heart condition guy myself, I know how to read these machines and I was surprised at the decent and stable numbers. The stroke situation is definitely more scary. Way more scary. He is not currently awake, and does not respond to speech or moving his appendages around. The nurse says he does defintely respond to pain, needles and discomfort. That's a very good sign, but no one will know for sure if he's suffered brain damage until he comes out of the fog. I'll be going back to visit him tomorrow. He's in St Joseph's ICU, Floor 4, Room 3 for anyone who knows him.Any of you who know Stephen or the Dreambreakers, please do pay him a visit.
